As credit unions use social media more and more to advertise their products and services, it’s important to remember that advertising rules apply to social media. This session addresses the advertising regulations for share account products and loans. We’ll talk about NCUA rules, Regulation Z/Truth in Lending, and Unfair, Deceptive and Abusive Acts and Practices (UDAAP). The privacy and security of member information and the potential risk involved with the credit union’s, as well as employees’, use of social media will be examined. The program also includes a discussion of the need for a social media policy and suggestions for topics to include in employee training on social media.
